Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Dhinam

Commemorating the Eternal Union of Baba with the Supreme

Vijayadashami (Baba Samadhi Day) – The Day of Divine Victory

Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, is a powerful festival symbolizing the victory of good over evil, truth over falsehood, and light over darkness. It falls on the tenth day (Dashami) of the Navaratri festival, following the nine nights of worship to the Divine Mother in her various forms.

Spiritually, Vijayadashami reminds us to conquer the inner enemies — ego, anger, greed, and ignorance, and live a life of righteousness (Dharma), just as Lord Rama defeated Ravana, and Devi Durga destroyed Mahishasura.

For devotees of Shri Sai Baba, this day is even more sacred as it marks Baba's Mahasamadhi in 1918. Though He left His mortal body, His divine presence and guidance continue eternally.

Samadhi Dhinam (Mahasamadhi Day) of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba is observed on Vijayadashami day — the sacred moment in 1918 when Baba left His mortal body and merged into the divine consciousness.

"My Samadhi will speak. I am ever alive to those who call upon Me with love and faith."

— Shri Sai Baba

This day is not one of sorrow, but of deep reverence, as Baba assured His devotees. The Samadhi Dhinam celebration is a time to reflect on Baba's teachings of Shraddha (Faith) and Saburi (Patience), and to express our devotion through prayers, service, and surrender.
